Lo(ve)(ss) is a collection of digital illustrations that delineate the relationship between love and loss and how they are intertwined with one another in the human experience. Each piece is inspired by a work of poetry from The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur and Please Love Me at My Worst by Michaela Angemeer in which a wide range of emotions can be felt in a variety of situations and circumstances. They encapsulate the good, the bad, and the ugly of relationships with ourselves and those dearest to us. Because the human experience of love and loss has such a large spectrum of feelings and emotions tied to each experience, I thought exploring this spectrum would shed light on not only these universal yet personal aspects of our lives, but also on the individuality each image can draw out of one’s own life experiences.
